Three Wheeled Buggies

Three-wheeled buggies are great for strolling around the neighborhood or jogging. Their compact design makes them easy to maneuver, even in tight spaces.

If you want a smooth ride on your baby, select models with 360deg front wheels that can swivel. However, they are susceptible to punctures so be prepared with a repair kit.

Frame made of sturdy material

New data show that three-wheeled buggies, the symbol of the noughties that had more money than common sense, are in steep decline. They've been replaced with four-wheelers that can handle a wider range of terrain, while still looking elegant and easy to push.

MFM reviewer Kath tested this buggy with a newborn baby and a toddler and found it to be very durable. It was able to handle cobbles, grass and rough pavements, aswell as dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath said that "it is sturdy to push and very solid when going over difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable so need occasional pumping) have suspension built-in, which was very comfortable for my kids.

The size and shape of the seat is another aspect to consider. You want the seat to be big enough to allow your child to feel comfortable and to allow them to lie down. Certain three-wheel buggies come with a lie-flat option that lets your child face you, while other buggies only allow a face-to-parent one.

MFM reviewer Kath tried out a three-wheeler with her infant and toddler and said: "The Terrain was a delight to maneuver on the ground, with the swivel front wheel being particularly helpful. I was also awed by the way it handled the kerbs, particularly when using the hand-operated brake. It was extremely stable when for descending or on uneven terrain."

The only downside to this amazing maneuverability is that the larger wheels of a lightweight 3 wheel pushchair wheel buggy might make it difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is something you need to be aware of when you live in one of the cities. If this is an issue then a 4-wheeled buggy could be a better option for you.
